History
Orient Watch Company was founded in Japan in 1950, though its roots trace back to 1901 when Shogoro Yoshida established the Yoshida Watch Shop in Tokyo. After World War II, the company reorganized and began producing wristwatches under the Orient brand name. The company became part of the Seiko Epson Corporation in 2001 but continued to operate with significant independence.
